Angling expertise.
Fishing consists of two seasons & 3 methods of angling
Introduction.
Angling is a very simple way to catch food for survival, making it a practical source of protein, omega-3 fatty acids & vitamins d & b2.

Summer season angling
The classic form of fishing & the easiest way to learn angling. The trick to an average rod & reel is to cast its weight of the lure on the end of the line. The reels are varied; ranging from flip-cast, bait-caster & enclosed button reels, all with very similar function, however the bait-caster is designed more for jigging making it harder to cast out than the other variations. The rod shafts are generally around 5-7' & are best cast from shoreline or off of a boat, kayak & canoe.

Essential inventory
- Fishing rod & reel.

- Rod case.
- Lens tackle kit.

- Fillet  knife & club.
- Fishing lure pliers.

- Boat, kayak or canoe.

Len Thompson lures.
Len Thompson lures or Lens for short, are solid copper spoons with stainless steel split rings & hooks. This make them better for the water as opposed to lead, in which high concentrations of lead will dilute the water over time. These ultra violet designs work best exposed to the sunlight during the summer season with longer days, giving off a very bright reflection within the waterline.

Summer season fly fishing
Fly fishing is the most difficult method of angling to learn. It consists of casting the weight of the line as opposed to the lure. this allows the fly to be whipped into the waterline. The rod & reel are much different compared to a normal angling rod, consisting of fluorocarbon leaders tied to thick neon line that is handled directly as opposed to reeling in line, allowing this method of fishing to be the most versatile. Another specification with fly fishing is matching flies with their hatch seasons & mimicking the natural insects. Fly rod shafts are between 8-10' & have one general reel design. Fly fishing is practical off of the shoreline or off of a boat, kayak & canoe.

Essential inventory

- Boat, kayak or conoe.

Streamers, nymphs, dry & wet flies.
All of these different flies serve different purposes. Streamers are best used in rivers with turbulent water, mimicking underwater aquatic life movement. Nymphs are often sunken under the water and fished like an aquatic insect. & dry flies are designed to drag on the surface of the waterline. Wet flies are often  sinker flies that  sink in shallower depths.

Winter season ice fishing
Ice fishing is the most simplistic angling, however is moderately difficult to learn due to its multi-tasking with auguring & ice skimming. Ice fishing is the most effective form of fishing in aspects of accessibility, once the lake is frozen the style of fishing is completely different having to drill through 3" to 4' of ice to access the water. Jigging is the only method of angling presented since the waterline is very limited, and is the only style aside from bait-casting. Tip up bait-casters are essential traps for catching additional fish, triggering a flag to alert the angler when the reel is being spun off. Ice fishing rod shafts are 30" to 50"  with either a reversible flip-cast reel to reel back & forth or a drop reel with a clutch that releases the reel and drops the lure. Ice fishing is done anywhere on the icy waterline of the lake.

Len Thompson lures.
Len Thompson lures or Lens for short, are solid copper spoons with stainless steel split rings & hooks. This make them better for the water as opposed to lead, in which high concentrations of lead will dilute the water over time. Luminescent designs serve best in the winter season due to the thick ice & snow coverage on the waterline, giving these lures a visual underwater advantage.

Between season fishing ends due to the inaccessibility of the waterline due to thin ice. this timeline usually occurs from mid-October to mid-November & from the beginning of April and the beginning of May.
